Choosing a restaurant is not always about quality, but about specialization

There are days when you are not looking for “a good restaurant” in general, but for a very specific cuisine: a well-executed curry, an authentic Mexican restaurant, a recognisable Peruvian option, or a vegan or gluten-free place without playing roulette.

This article is not intended to rate or compete with The best restaurants in Andorra, which we already cover in a separate article.

The logic here is different: to organise real specialities, with suitable options by category, carefully selected and currently relevant.

👉 Practical tip: although we make a strong effort to keep this guide fully up to date, we always recommend checking each restaurant’s website or social media before going, especially if the venue has changed name, location or opening hours.

What we mean here by a “speciality restaurant”

We are not talking about fine dining or author-driven cuisine. Here, “speciality” implies:

  • A clearly recognisable cuisine (Mexican, Indian, Peruvian, etc.).
  • A coherent proposal, without scattered or unfocused menus.
  • A real presence and verifiable ongoing activity.

🍜 Asian cuisine

In this article, Asian cuisine refers to East Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines, as they are commonly understood within the European gastronomic context.

It mainly includes Chinese, Korean and Southeast Asian proposals (such as Thai, Vietnamese or Filipino), as well as fusions based on these traditions. Japanese restaurants are not included here; if that is your preference, we recommend reading The best Japanese restaurants in Andorra: where to eat quality sushi and Japanese cuisine.

Indian cuisine is also excluded from this section, as it has a very distinct identity and is treated as a separate speciality within this guide. You will find Indian restaurants in the following thematic block.

⭐ Món Asiàtic – Escaldes-Engordany

A broad and functional Asian proposal, with soups, rice dishes and Chinese and Japanese references. It works equally well for a quick meal or for sitting down more leisurely, without unnecessary pretensions.

⭐ Fil-Taste Corner – Andorra la Vella

Asian fusion with a strong Filipino presence and a clearly home-style approach. An interesting alternative when you are looking for Asian flavours beyond the usual Chinese–Japanese axis.

⭐ Sentro’20 – La Massana

Contemporary Filipino cuisine, handled with great care in terms of product, technique and presentation.
The menu combines traditional Filipino references with a modern, well-structured execution, far from the generic “Asian restaurant” concept. The overall experience reflects culinary judgement, attention to detail and a clear commitment to doing things properly, both in the kitchen and in the dining room.

It is particularly well suited to those looking for distinctive Asian flavours, well executed and with a clear identity, in a carefully designed setting.

⭐ UDON – Andorra la Vella

A chain specialising in informal Japanese cuisine, with a focus on udon, noodles and hot dishes. It is not traditional Japanese cooking, but it is a clear and consistent option within the contemporary Japanese dining space.

⭐ Siam Shiki – Escaldes-Engordany

A Thai cuisine proposal, with spiced dishes and flavours typical of Southeast Asia. It brings genuine diversity to the Asian category.

⭐ Fideus – Andorra la Vella

An Asian-inspired restaurant focused on noodles and stir-fried dishes, with an informal and functional approach. Closer to Asian street food than to a specific regional cuisine.

⭐ Pitaya – Andorra la Vella

An Asian street food chain offering recipes inspired by different Southeast Asian cuisines. A fast, visual and clearly informal concept.

⭐ Bronze Age Fondue – Andorra la Vella

A thematic concept centred on Asian-style fondue and table cooking, offering a more playful than traditional experience. It fits as a contemporary Asian concept rather than a classic regional cuisine.

⭐ Taverna Cal Roka – Andorra la Vella

A Catalan cuisine restaurant that occasionally incorporates Asian-inspired dishes. It is not Asian as a core concept, but is included as a hybrid with a genuine presence of Eastern flavours.

🌶️ Indian cuisine

In this guide, Indian cuisine refers exclusively to the gastronomy of the Indian subcontinent, with a very distinctive identity shaped by its use of spices, techniques and recipes.

It includes traditional Indian cuisine and its most common restaurant formats (curries, tandoori, masalas), and is not mixed with East Asian cuisines, which follow a different culinary logic.

The objective is for the reader to clearly understand what type of flavours and dishes to expect before making a choice.

⭐ Namaste – Escaldes-Engordany

A classic Indian restaurant, with a recognisable menu and clearly identifiable dishes. Suitable if you are looking for an Indian experience without surprises or reinterpretations.

⭐ Mandala – Andorra la Vella

A more intimate venue, with a strong personality and carefully prepared cuisine. Particularly fitting when you are looking for an Indian restaurant with character and a calm atmosphere.

🥙 Arab / Middle Eastern cuisine

In this guide, Arab / Middle Eastern cuisine refers to the gastronomies of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Near East, sharing a common base of traditional recipes, spices and dishes designed for sharing.

It includes cuisines such as Turkish, Lebanese or Middle Eastern in a broader sense, and excludes fast kebab formats where there is no structured culinary proposal.

The aim is to clearly differentiate informal fast food from a recognisable culinary experience within this speciality.

⭐ Babek Restaurant – La Massana

A Middle Eastern proposal with a slightly more gastronomic positioning within the category, paying close attention to both product quality and execution.

⭐ Delícies Turques – Escaldes-Engordany

Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine built on a solid traditional base. One of the most consistently referenced names when searching for this speciality in Andorra.

⭐ De Pita Mare – Andorra la Vella

An informal concept focused on Middle Eastern cuisine, served in a fast and accessible format.
Despite this agile approach, there is clear knowledge of the culinary repertoire, well-defined flavours and a solid base, which fully justifies its inclusion within this speciality.

🌮 Mexican cuisine

In this guide, Mexican cuisine refers to proposals based on Mexican gastronomy, whether in its traditional form or in contemporary or fusion interpretations rooted in Mexican cuisine.

It includes recognisable dishes and concepts from Mexican cooking (tacos, moles, antojitos, sauces), as well as hybrid interpretations that retain a clearly identifiable Mexican foundation.

The objective is for the reader to understand exactly what type of cuisine they will encounter, distinguishing between traditional Mexican restaurants and Mexican-based proposals using other culinary languages.

⭐ Adelita – Andorra la Vella

One of the clearest references for traditional Mexican cuisine in Andorra.
A recognisable menu, well-defined flavours and an approach that prioritises classic recipes over reinterpretation. Particularly effective when you are looking for authentic Mexican food, without fusion or artifice.

⭐ El Cielito Lindo – Andorra la Vella

A traditional Mexican cuisine proposal, with a kitchen and service team that knows the Mexican culinary repertoire very well and demonstrates a high level of execution in the dishes they prepare.
Quality and judgement are clearly present, although the structure of the menu does not always allow the team’s full technical and culinary potential to be expressed.

⭐ Tequilando Box – Andorra la Vella

A Mexican cantina-style concept, with counter service and direct pick-up.
A more traditional format, focused on tacos and classic dishes, executed with very good product quality. Especially suitable when you are looking for authentic Mexican food, without formality and with a fast-paced rhythm.

⭐ Japomex – Andorra la Vella

A Japanese–Mexican fusion proposal, combining elements of both cuisines in a contemporary approach.
It is not traditional Mexican cuisine, but rather a hybrid interpretation designed for those seeking a different experience based on Mexican roots.

⭐ Era de la Cort – Soldeu

A contemporary cuisine restaurant with a clear presence of Mexican-inspired dishes, handled with judgement and solid execution.
It is neither a traditional Mexican restaurant nor a cantina, but a broader proposal in which Mexican cuisine coexists with other culinary registers, maintaining its identity and quality when it appears on the menu.

🥩 Argentine cuisine

In this guide, Argentine cuisine is understood through its three fundamental pillars: grilled meat, milanesas and empanadas.
These are the true foundations of Argentine cooking and also its most common expressions outside the country.

It includes proposals centred on parrilla and meat cuts, restaurants where the milanesa is a key dish, and more informal formats in which empanadas play an essential role, whether as a main dish or a quick option. The criterion is always the same: recognisable cuisine, well executed and faithful to its tradition.

⭐ Pampa Andorra – Andorra la Vella

A classic Argentine restaurant, centred on parrilla and meat cuts. A recognisable menu, without artifice, oriented towards a traditional dining-room experience.

⭐ Cambalache – Andorra la Vella

An informal Argentine proposal, strongly focused on empanadas and popular dishes from the traditional repertoire.
It does not aim to offer a parrilla or formal dining experience, but rather direct, clearly identifiable flavour that is easy to enjoy, making it a very coherent option within the empanada pillar of Argentine cuisine.

⭐ Surf Arinsal – Arinsal

An Argentine steakhouse with a more modern approach, where meat is the absolute central axis. Product and atmosphere take precedence over traditional discourse.

⭐ Ruta 40 – Arinsal

An Argentine chain widely present in the country. Its value lies in its consistency and accessibility, combining parrilla and empanadas as the basis of its offer.

⭐ Parrilla Argentina – La Massana

A classic Argentine parrilla restaurant, with a proposal centred on grilled meats, recognisable cuts and traditional dishes from the Argentine repertoire.
It is a direct and clear option when what you are looking for is well-prepared meat, without hybrid formats or reinterpretations, faithful to the spirit of the parrilla.

⭐ La Gaucha – La Massana

An informal format focused on empanadas, designed for quick consumption or takeaway. It does not replace a parrilla, but it covers the other major pillar of Argentine cuisine.

🐟 Peruvian / South American cuisine

In this guide, Peruvian cuisine is understood as a gastronomy strongly marked by product quality, balance of flavours and technique, with a distinct identity within Latin America.

It is mainly based on:

  • ceviches and cold preparations,
  • criollo dishes (rice dishes, stews, ají-based recipes),
  • and, in some cases, nikkei cuisine, which fuses a Peruvian base with Japanese influences.

The criterion here is to distinguish proposals in which flavour, execution and respect for Peruvian tradition are clearly present, whether in more classic formats or in well-understood contemporary interpretations.

⭐ Racó Peruà – Andorra la Vella

Clearly recognisable Peruvian cuisine, focused on flavour and the plate, with a structured proposal that sustains this category in Andorra.

🥐 French cuisine

In this guide, French cuisine refers to proposals based on the classic French culinary repertoire, whether in bistro format or in more gastronomic restaurants.

It includes cuisine with recognisable technique, sauces, stocks and traditional preparations, without entering into modern reinterpretations or fusions. The criterion is clear: a well-executed French foundation, coherent with its tradition.

⭐ Restaurant Eric Marty – Andorra la Vella

A clear reference for French cuisine in restaurant format, with a well-defined gastronomic positioning.

⭐ Restaurant El Provençal – Encamp / Pas de la Casa

Located in an area with a strong French clientele, this restaurant fits perfectly with its context and demand.

🥗 Vegetarian / vegan

This section includes only proposals where plant-based cuisine is the core of the concept, not restaurants that simply “offer options”.

It covers both vegetarian and vegan cuisine, provided that the menu is designed around plant-based ingredients and not as a secondary adaptation. The objective is for the reader to know clearly that they will find a real, structured vegetarian or vegan proposal.

⭐ La Huella Vegana – Andorra la Vella

A 100% vegan proposal, with gluten-free options. It is the clearest reference within this category.

⭐ Veggie’s World – Andorra la Vella

A vegetarian/vegan restaurant in a more informal format, useful as a practical alternative.

🌾 Gluten-free

This category includes establishments clearly oriented towards people with coeliac disease, either because their offer is entirely gluten-free or because they work with reliable, ongoing protocols.

These are not restaurants that merely have “a few gluten-free dishes”, but options where control and safety are part of the concept itself, helping to reduce risks and false expectations.

⭐ 0% Gluten – Escaldes-Engordany

A 100% gluten-free café and bakery, offering pizzas, focaccias, sandwiches and pastries. Particularly relevant for people with coeliac disease.

⭐ Viena – Andorra la Vella / Escaldes

Not a speciality restaurant by cuisine, but a practical option with gluten-free availability.

When you are looking for a specific cuisine, criteria matter

Andorra does not have enough volume to create a dedicated article for every category without forcing the selection, which is precisely why this guide exists.

What does exist is a clear enough offer to build an honest guide: few specialities, few names, and well-calibrated expectations.

This selection is not intended to be exhaustive. It is intended to be useful: to help you find a specific type of cuisine when you are genuinely looking for it, without inflating options or creating false promises.
